Since 2019, 20Mission Cerveza has become one of the most popular bars in Medellin. Located in an expansive warehouse in barrio Manila, this giant gastropub and craft brewery has a creative co-working as one of the reasons for their unstoppable success.

Cerveceria Maestre

Defined as a Brew Pub, this petite purveyor of craft brew happiness in the heart of Poblado sits on a little side street between Calle 10 and Calle 10a and has been promoting a new way to drink beer since 2017.

Cerveceria Libre

One of the pioneering micro-breweries in Medellin, Cerveceria Libre, has been brewing its way into the hearts of Medellin’s craft beer fans since 2014. Its built a strong stable of IPAs since it hit the scene with its beers debut, Libre IPA, Libre Pasion, and Libre Avellana.

The Corner Bar Medellin

Tres Cordilleras

Tres Cordilleras is the enormous pride for the city’s beer lovers in Medellin. This pioneer in the Colombian craft brew market has become one of the most successful “artesanal” brewers in an industry-led by Bogotá Beer Company (BBC), Colombia’s biggest “little” brewery.

Carmen Restaurante

Carmen’s sophisticated tasting menu, sensational collection of craft cocktails, and a devilish attention to detail have helped this El Poblado culinary landmark hold off an army of upstarts for the title of the best restaurant in Medellin for more than a decade.

ElCielo Medellin

ElCielo’s creator-in-chief, Juan Manuel Barrientos, was the first to put Heston Blumenthal and Ferran Adrià-style molecular tricks on the menu in Medellin, when he unleashed his heavenly fine-dining experience on El Poblado in 2006.

La Provincia

La Provincia is where the heavyweight cheque books of Medellin’s old money go-to power lunch and to break bread with their loved ones on special occasions.

Ajiacos y Mondongos

It’s been this way since 1991 with little changing in the interim. An obligatory pitstop for out-of-town celebrities when they’re in Medellin, this ultra-traditional eatery close to Parque Poblado offers the best ajiaco in town.

This culinary landmark has two incredibly popular venues on two of the most emblematic streets in Medellin, La 10 and La 70 in Poblado and Laureles. Both are brilliant for observing the ultra-traditional paisa families and couples in their natural habitat.

Restaurante Hatoviejo

It’s not always great when a restaurant becomes a tourist attraction but the city’s most famous traditional Colombian restaurant, Restaurante Hatoviejo, hasn’t let fame go to its head and continues to do what it has been doing so well since it first opened in 1982.

Rituales Cafe

Established to support 40 families in La Sierra, one of the most troubled areas on the edge of the city, Rituales, Rituales has been roasting its award-winning Paraiso brew in situ, since 2017.

Café Velvet Medellin

Cafe Velvet Medellin occupies the ground floor of Medellin’s first experiment with co-working making it a popular meeting place for some of the city’s most creative types.

Hija Mia Coffee Roasters

Roasted on-site, Hija Mia’s Rebelde blend, uses beans of the highly sought after Caturra and Bourbon varieties from farms in Santa Maria in the department of Huila.

Café Revolución

A bulwark of Medellin’s coffee scene since 2014, Café Revolución now has two branches in Laureles serving coffee and tasty treats that attracts a blend of locals and tourists that’s as uplifting as an espresso from one of their freshly roasted bag of beans.

Urbania

You get coffee with a conscience when you charge up at one of Urbania’s three venues in Poblado and Envigado. Urbania’s founder, Ricardo Restrepo, is passionate about his caffeine fuelled mission to bring peace to Colombia through brewing great coffee.
